Reading is at the heart of everything we do at Quarry Mount and we know how important it is to instill a love of reading right from the start.

Take a look at some of the reading activities that we love at Quarry Mount.
World Book Day Competition

Our WBD competition challenge this year was to create a 3D character from our favourite story. We had some brilliant entries! Well done everyone :) Winners will be announced in assembly and will receive a voucher to spend on new books to take home.

World Book Day

Well done to everyone that came into school dressed as their favourite character. You all looked amazing! In the afternoon, we mixed classes and read our favourite stories to each other and took part in some WBD activities.

Harry Potter Night

KS2 children had a fantastic time at our annual Harry Potter night. First, the children were selected by the sorting hat and put into their house. Once all the children were sorted into teams, they enjoyed a glass of ‘butter beer’ (a sweet drink made with cream soda) and cupcakes. They were then given lots of different activities to complete such as, creating potions and crafts. We ended the evening with a Harry Potter quiz where Ravenclaw were victorious!
