Essentials in English

The English curriculum changed officially in 2014. The Essentials (developed by the school) are in line with the new requirements and explain what a child should be expected to know in each year of their educational life. Each attached table describes the essentials in adult and child-friendly terms.

Reception Class and Key Stage 1 use the follow materials to support the teaching of reading - Project X reading scheme, LCP Phonics and 'Jolly Phonics'.
If you have any questions about our curriculum, please ask for Mrs Smith or Miss Webster.
