Remote learning tasks for Monday 11th January

Hello Year 5, Well, who would have thought that when I chose the snowy poem for our reading lesson it would be on a day when we got real snow?! I hope you got to play out in it for a little bit. Rihaam was our scientist of the week for her drawing of the male and female parts of the flower. She also suggested some key words that we would have written on the lab coat if we had been in the classroom. Well done, Rihaam! Please read the attached plan to find out what Monday's tasks are and try to complete them all. (For some of the tasks you will need to open another document.) Remember the work can also be found on the school website and through your Teams account. I hope you find fun ways to enjoy the weekend at home! Mrs Smith

Remote learning tasks for Friday 8th January

Hello Year 5. I have been really looking forward to teaching you again - it is just a shame that at the moment it has to be online and not in the classroom. We are starting our Science topic today and I already know what brilliant scientists you are. I wonder who would be wearing the white lab coat if we were in class? Please read the plan below to find out what today's tasks are and try to complete them all. (For some of the tasks you will need to open another document.) Work hard and then you can enjoy the weekend! Stay safe, Mrs Smith

Remote learning tasks for Thursday 7th January

Good morning Year 5, I have really enjoyed receiving all of your work so far. I'm really impressed with the effort you're all putting in. I have attached the learning plan for Thursday here and some extra posters which might help with your Reading and Maths work. Please remember to email if you are struggling with any tasks. I am also on teams so feel free to have a go using this. I hope you're all keeping safe. Mrs Clarkson

Remote learning tasks for Wednesday 6th January

Please read the following plan and complete all of the activities. The Maths cold task is attached as a separate document. I hope you are all well and I look forward to seeing your work.

Tuesday 5th January

Good morning Year 5,

I hope you are all well and keeping safe. For today's home learning please complete pages 14-15 in your Maths book, pages12 -13 in your Reading book and page 28 from your Grammar book. Please take a photo of your work and send it to the class email today so I can see how you have done.

As I am new to Y5 I was hoping to spend some time in school getting to know each of you. However, as we are unable to do this, please spend some time today creating an 'All about me' poster. Please use this as an opportunity to tell me everything about yourself you think I should know. Please send this activity to the class email so I can see your lovely work.

Here are some ideas of what you could include:
  • Name
  • A picture of yourself
  • Favourite subject
  • Least favourite subject
  • Hobbies
  • Any languages you may speak
  • Pets
  • Something interesting about yourself
Please make your poster as colourful as you wish and enjoy making it.

Here is some information about me you may like to know.

My name is Mrs Clarkson and my favourite subjects are Reading, Writing, Maths and P.E. I love staying active and swimming in my spare time. At home, I have a 14 week old labrador puppy called River. I'm really looking forward to getting to know each of you over the next few weeks and seeing your fantastic work.

I will upload Wednesday's remote learning tasks to the school website by 5pm today, to allow your parents / carers to look over what I expect you to complete while at home tomorrow.

I hope you all have a lovely day at home,
Mrs Clarkson :)
