We are a small, one form entry school in Leeds City Centre. We pride ourselves on our sense of community and our passion to create a learning environment that is as rich and diverse as the area we serve.
Children enjoy learning through the wonderful, wide-ranging currciulum that we deliver that also celebrates the heritage and diversity of our catchment area.
Read MoreAt the end of Autumn 2, as a whole school reward, each class had a "cinema" morning. We were all given a special ticket before we entered the hall along the red carpet, watched the movie previews, had our photos taken at the picture booth, ate some popcorn and then watched a movie in our classrooms! It was great fun.
Here at Quarry Mount, we celebrated difference through our Diversity Day, held on Monday 19th July 2021. We practiced Art without using our hands, we took part in Paralympic PE, we designed alternative communication devices in Science, we read Braille, we consumed foods/drinks that are linked to many different religious celebrations and we made binoculars to look at things differently. We enjoyed learning about how difference impacts on society and watched video clips about how people and the world we live in adapts. We looked at how people and families are different, from family dynamic and sudden change to moral and religious values. We looked at the positives and negatives that come with diversity. Pupils continue to learn about diversity and inclusivity beyond Diversity Day, through their lessons and assemblies.
