An interview with Rhia Sym:
I've been a parent governor at school for just over a year. I enjoy helping the school, it's pupils and the whole school community develop to become the best it can be.
I've worked in finance for the last 8 years.
1,What is your other job?
I'm a Customer Advocate for a bank. That means I help people when they have problems and need to complain to a bank and I try to fix their problems.
2,What is the best thing about being a school governor?
I enjoy helping Quarry Mount and the local community. But the best thing is seeing young people make the most of their potential. I hope my role as a governor can help encourage the schools pupils reach their potential by making sure the best opportunities are available to them.
3,What was your favourite subject at school?
I had two favourite subjects at school. I loved both maths and art. I enjoy maths and use it in my other job every day. But I also loved art, especially anything involving paint and or glue. I loved getting messy and creative and still enjoy making things and painting now when I get the chance.
